Patti’s Allergy Conscious Kitchen is PACK for short!
“Make enough to PACK it up and take it with you!”

Living with food allergies is hard. When cooking for yourself, family and friends make enough to PACK it up and take it with you. Whether it’s a sauce, seasoning, appetizer, main course, or dessert you will have many occasions to bring your favorite recipes. Are you going to a restaurant, a special event, or on vacation? The recipes found on PACK can be made ahead, frozen, or stored ready for you to head to your next event or adventure.
The term “PACK” is found in many of the recipes here. PACK refers to an adjusted recipe that contains no alliums: onions, garlic, scallions, chives, shallots, leeks, or asparagus. All recipes are gluten free and have suggested adjustments for nuts, eggs, and dairy. Some examples are PACK Chili Powder, PACK Salsa, PACK Worcestershire Sauce etc. These can be added to a plain dish to enhance the flavor.
Traveling outside your “bubble” is challenging and for many of us, deadly. In your own home, you have the benefit of making sure your food is safe. Often when you notify the establishment you are visiting of your food allergens, your dish will be prepared plain for fear of poisoning you. Be ready and PACK something to take with you to add flavor safely or to supplement the meal you have ordered.
ATTENTION: Patti’s Allergy Conscious Kitchen is meant to provide suggestions and does not infer medical advice. The focus of the recipes on this site are allium/gluten free and attempts to make substitutions for egg, dairy, and nut allergies.
